The Oyez Review has published fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction and art every year since 1973. A staff of Roosevelt MFA candidates edit the literary award-winning magazine, which has featured work by authors such as Charles Bukowski, James McManus and Carla Panciera.
The name Oyez comes from the Anglo-Norman word for “hear ye,” the imperative plural of “oyer,” meaning “to hear.” It was used as a call for silence and attention in court and at public gatherings.
